Seller guide
How do I answer a marketplace customer question without guessing?
Turn a product question into a short factual answer by separating the customer's words from a small verified fact ledger, then hold anything that needs safety, warranty, compatibility, or policy review.
Classify the question before drafting
Decide whether the buyer is asking about compatibility, dimensions, included items, materials, care, availability, shipping, warranty, returns, or safety. A question can contain more than one intent, so list each part before choosing facts. Do not let an urgent tone turn into an unsupported answer.
Build a fact ledger from the product, not the question
Write short label-value records from the current package, manual, verified specification, and live offer: for example, Compatibility, Included items, and Not included. Customer text is evidence of what they want to know, not evidence that a product feature or remedy exists.
Answer only what the ledger supports
Use the fewest relevant facts that resolve the question. Name exceptions such as an adapter that is not included or a model that was not tested. If the ledger cannot answer a part, say it needs seller verification instead of filling the gap with a plausible generalization.
Hold sensitive claims and review in channel
Medical, safety, certification, legal, and warranty claims need their own evidence and sometimes qualified review. Remove off-platform links or contact instructions and use the marketplace's authorized support flow. Review the final draft against the current product and offer before posting it manually.
