How do I reconcile Poshmark fees, shipping discounts, and net earnings?
Recompute seller-supplied flat or percentage fee terms, preserve shipping-discount deductions separately, and compare recorded net earnings without claiming Poshmark owes a payout.
Start with one redacted completed-sales window
Choose one reporting currency and a closed date range. Keep a seller-owned row reference, sale date, optional listing alias, order total, seller-paid shipping discount, recorded marketplace fee, and recorded net earnings. Remove buyer names, addresses, messages, payment instruments, and raw order identifiers. Preserve refunds, cancellations, and unfamiliar adjustments as separate source-review rows instead of forcing them through completed-sale arithmetic. A clean scope matters more than a total that happens to match.
Supply both fee regimes and the exact boundary
Enter the seller-observed flat fee, the order-total threshold, and the percentage commission that applies at or above that threshold. Treat an order strictly below the supplied threshold as flat-fee and a sale exactly at the threshold as percentage-fee. Date the source terms outside the calculation. Do not import a remembered schedule or reuse another seller's terms; fees and program treatment can change, and this check should expose its assumptions.
Recompute the fee and net earnings independently
For a flat-regime row, use the supplied flat amount. For a percentage-regime row, multiply order total by the supplied rate and round once to cents. Then compute net earnings as order total minus the recomputed fee minus the supplied seller-paid shipping discount. Compare both the fee and net earnings with their recorded values inside a seller-selected tolerance. A matching fee does not make a separate shipping-discount or net-earnings discrepancy disappear.
Keep discrepancy directions and threshold context visible
Rank rows where both recorded components differ first, followed by fee-only, net-only, and reconciled rows. Total possible fee-overcharge arithmetic separately from recorded-below-recomputed fees, and keep possible net-earnings shortfalls separate from recorded-above-recomputed net amounts. Summarize flat and percentage regimes independently so rows near the supplied boundary are easy to inspect. Never net opposite directions into one reassuring account number.
Verify the original sale before taking bookkeeping action
Open the authorized sale record for each queued alias and check order status, offer or bundle treatment, shipping discount, refund or cancellation timing, tax handling, effective fee terms, and any omitted adjustment. This bounded recompute does not prove Poshmark charged the wrong fee or owes different net earnings. Friday reads no account, opens no case, requests no money, sends no message, changes no listing or price, and publishes no listing; a human reviews the current source evidence before any next step.
