Seller guide
How do I verify Mercari selling fees, processing fees, and net proceeds?
Recompute two seller-supplied Mercari fee components and the resulting net proceeds while keeping offsetting differences and unknown fee bases visible.
Build a one-currency redacted sale ledger
Choose one as-of date and reporting currency. For each completed sale, retain a seller-owned reference, sale date, optional listing and SKU aliases, proceeds before fees, the basis and recorded charge for each fee component, and recorded net proceeds. Remove buyer identity, address, bank, payment-instrument, message, and raw order fields. Keep refunds, promotions, credits, and adjustments outside the basic sale identity until their signs and source scope have been verified.
Supply selling and processing terms separately
Enter the seller-observed percentage and flat amount for the selling-service component and independently enter the percentage and flat amount for payment processing. Preserve each supplied fee basis rather than assuming both fees use the same amount. Date the terms used for the report window. If a basis or rate is missing, stop that comparison as incomplete instead of borrowing a current rate, treating the missing value as zero, or guessing how shipping and tax were handled.
Round components before rebuilding net proceeds
For each component, multiply its supplied basis by its supplied percentage, add its supplied flat amount, and round that component once to cents. Add the two recomputed fees, then subtract them from proceeds before fees to obtain recomputed net proceeds. Compare both recorded fee components and recorded net proceeds independently inside the seller tolerance. Component differences can cancel in the total, so a matching net amount alone is not a complete reconciliation.
Rank mismatches without turning them into payout claims
Put rows with fee and net discrepancies first, then fee-only, net-only, and clear rows. Keep possible recorded-above-recomputed fee exposure separate from recorded-below-recomputed fees, and keep possible net-proceeds shortfalls separate from recorded-above-recomputed proceeds. Summarize selling and processing components independently. Those labels describe submitted arithmetic only; they do not prove a fee was wrong, a credit exists, or a payout is owed.
Return to the source export before escalating
For each queued alias, verify sale status, fee basis, effective terms, refunds, promotions, shipping, taxes, credits, adjustments, and whether the export split one sale into several movements. Re-export the same closed window when scope is unclear. Friday reads no Mercari account or Balance, embeds no rate, files no dispute, requests no credit, moves no money, changes no listing or price, and publishes nothing; the output is a bounded source-review queue.
Tools that help with this
Prices below are exact x402 per-call prices. Human card checkout uses fixed $3, $9, and $29 bundles; follow a tool page to see its applicable bundle.
- Mercari Selling + Payment-Processing Fee Verifier ($0.50) — Recompute supplied Mercari fee components and net proceeds across a batch
- Marketplace Payout Reconciliation Analyzer ($1.00) — Tie verified sale components to a seller-supplied payout and deposit
Every paid output is a draft for your review before you publish, appeal, or activate anything. Friday does not access your seller account.
