Seller guide
How do I verify TikTok Shop commission and transaction fee charges?
Recompute seller-supplied TikTok Shop commission and transaction fees as independent components, preserve discrepancy direction, and verify the source before treating arithmetic as a charge finding.
Build a redacted one-currency fee ledger
For each completed-order row, retain a seller-owned reference, order date, optional product and SKU aliases, reporting currency, the commission fee basis and recorded commission, and the transaction fee basis and recorded transaction fee. Remove buyer, address, bank, payment-instrument, message, and raw order fields. Keep one as-of date and one currency so unlike amounts are never added. Preserve blanks and unfamiliar rows instead of filling them from a remembered schedule.
Supply each rate and basis independently
Enter the commission percentage that applies to the supplied commission basis. Enter the transaction percentage and any flat amount that apply to the separate transaction basis. Do not assume the bases are identical or infer a product category from its name. Date the seller's source terms outside the calculation. If the basis, rate, or effective period is uncertain, keep the row in source review instead of forcing a fee result.
Recompute and round the two components separately
Calculate commission as its supplied basis times its supplied percentage. Calculate the transaction fee as its supplied basis times its supplied percentage plus its supplied flat amount. Round each component to cents before comparison, then apply the seller's tolerance to each difference independently. A commission amount above its recompute cannot cancel a transaction amount below its recompute and make the row appear reconciled.
Rank mismatches without converting them into claims
Put any component outside tolerance first and rank by absolute combined discrepancy. Keep recorded-above-recomputed exposure separate from recorded-below-recomputed rows, and show commission and transaction summaries independently. A high recorded fee can be reviewed even when it matches the submitted arithmetic, but matching does not validate the category, basis, rate, promotion treatment, tax handling, or marketplace calculation.
Check the current fee record before escalating
Open the authorized fee and settlement rows and verify order status, category, basis, rate effective date, discounts, waivers, refunds, adjustments, tax treatment, and export scope. This bounded method does not prove TikTok Shop charged incorrectly or establish a refund, credit, or dispute right. Friday reads no Seller Center data, opens no case, requests no money, changes no product, price, shipping, promotion, or account, and publishes no listing.
